Literally Ramblin Man

As I force myself to create time to not doom scroll and write these tournament reports, I ask myself, who is this for? It’s for me. Not me now, currently I don’t want to do this. This is for future me, a public journal chronicling experiences. I could make a private journal but I’m terribly disorganized and I would lose it, if it was a digital one, the same thing would probably happen. Hopefully this wont become part of the digital dark age, but in a generation who cares.

6 rounds of bloodbowl over two days. Let’s talk about it.

I decided to bring my beautifully painted gnome team, GNO MErcy. These were sculpted by Pedro Ramos. My list was fairly straightforward but in hindsight gnomes weren’t a great race to play for this event.

Round was a crushing defeat. Tier3beard did an amazing job using his human blitzer with mighty blow and pro from being the captain to brutalize my team. He won 0-3 and made me nervous about what the next five games had in store for me.

Lessons were learned round1 and I worked to not have a repeat. Unfortunately, we realized late that some players were not fielded which probably impacted the game. It was a nice game and I got the 3-0 win. I wasn’t brimming with confidence with my opponent being fresh AND playing players down. My goal was to be the top gnome coach for the weekend so I had to put up points when I could. We did have the players get on the field once we noticed he was two catchers short.

Oh cool, table 1 for the third round, my team has won our last two rounds and are top table. I played Hoshi_Komi once before and it was at Amorical 2024, with my Halflings the Venison Beach Surfin Birds. As with most of my losses with this team, I had great control of the board, until I didn’t. Hoshi_Komi isn’t a slouch, so once my position staggered, he beat the snot out of me. My Second 0-3 loss. I hope to play Hoshi_Komi again at Amorical 2028, where ever that is.

Round 4 has us pairing off another All Amorical Team – BBQ ADMIN CREW – these guys went on to win the All Amorical Award and were a lot of fun. I don’t remember a lot of this match, we ended up getting a 1-1 draw and if memory serves me, he was playing against some unlikely casualties I caused early and a tripwire to tie it at the end of the first half.

End day 1

We as a team are sitting 2/0/2 and my personal record is 1/1/2. I’m not feeling great about Gnomes but at least my team is pretty and my guys have fun names.

DAY 2

An exciting post game report, I don’t remember much of this game. We drew 1-1. Warshok is about 2 hours south of me and it seems like I may play him again in the near future.

Round six has us playing against Team BBPN, which may be captained by Sizzlerman himself, Xanxian, the almost Cabbage King, SZLRM, Alex. I was playing Iceblade2000s Necro and we were in 3rd for our teams. I don’t recall much of the match, but I got the 2-1 win. Making my record for the weekend a clean 2/2/2. Out team went 4/0/2 and lost on tie breaks to BBQ ADMIN CREW for All Amorical, I have to assume one of the tie breaks was them beating us in head to head. But we didn’t go home empty handed!

All in all it was an amazing event. Even with the lack of hot tub or the electricity going out for almost 24 hours and only having partial lighting and no elevator – we were on the sixth floor. It was a great event and I’ll do it again dangit!
