Literally Ramblin Man

I like to put a fair bit of time between playing in an event and writing about it. Since Amorical Cup, I’ve run an event at Origins Game Faire, have gone on vacation and am currently going on my second vacation. This passage of time allows me to forget any annoying details and allows me to focus on what truly matters, the win/loss record which I can clearly recall by looking it up on BBTM.app. What’s important is – I won the last second sons tournament and am the defending champion. This tournament was 64 players over three rounds.

Round 1: XTREME and Da 40 Miners

Being paired against Bryan in the opening rounds of the Second Sons tournament was great. I had a fair bit of nerves going into this event, I like playing well but I don’t like feeling like I have to win, which was a feeling I had going into this event. I *have* to defend my title and going into this event I was primed to be tilted. Thankfully being paired against one of my absolute favorite opponents put me at ease and allowed me to enjoy the game. Xtreme, the truest dwarf coach ever, embodies dwarven principles like – hard work, dedication, perseverance and artistry. Xtreme is a constant source of inspiration for the hobby to me. Not just prolific as a Dwarf Coach but a creator of things that enrich the hobby.

Our game was a draw, which immediately put me out of the running to defend my title and made the rest of the event more easy to enjoy. A perfect situation.

Round 2:

CoyoteJoe13 and Brownieburg Bogarts (ogres)

CoyoteJoe13 aka Joe aka Razzmatazz is my bloodbowl rock. Joe is bloodbowl Zen and someone who I try to model some of my own behaviors off of. CoyoteJoe13 aka Razzmatazz has been bringing deeply themed teams to events the last few years, complete with all the accoutrements and the Browniburg Boggarts did not fail to maintain that standard. My old world alliance Team becoming much better than it was the year before, was able to pull off the W.

Round 3:

Snowmacus and Stirland United (old world alliance)

A mirror match against a guy I’ve never played before. Snowmacus completely brutalized my team. I think the first casualty was the tree, after his slayer caught the ball while standing next to the tree. Then he worked in reverse order remove my players by highest to lowest armor. He caused 6 casualties. While this was a mirror match at second sons and we didn’t play each other at the big event, but we played the same team there as well – GNOMES. It’s obvious he has good taste.

That was three rounds of Second Sons with Grither winning the whole event coaching his Nurgle Team – Adorable Detestations Of Dhuum. As is tradition, I got to award him his sword.
